  100. I am the author of two books in the voluntary simplicity/frugality genre: FRUGAL LUXURIES and FRUGAL LUXURIES BY THE SEASONS (both published by Bantam). They were the first to combine style and frugality while encouraging the reader to focus on what matters most…our time, our loved ones, our inner sense of prosperity.
The philosophy of FRUGAL LUXURIES is about taking control of your life; your environment; your finances; it is making things work for you, not against you. It is about saving money, saving time and being a responsible caretaker of our world…while freeing you to enjoy a happy, artful, life.
Currently, I am sharing the FRUGAL LUXURIES’ lifestyle by way of blogging…

  436. I am a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law and have made my living as an entrepreneur buying and selling commercial real estate and businesses. Throughout my entire 30 year career it
has been my passion to write, speak and teach on subjects of financial and personal achievement.

My first book, The Real Estate Game (CCH), was published in 1986 and received national recognition from investors and critics around the U.S. The publication of this book led to various speaking engagements around the country including Harvard and NYU Business Schools. During this period I also became a television commentator on business issues and from 1988 to 1990 had a daily program on the Financial News Network (which became CNBC) where I was honored for my programming.

My second book, Confessions of a Real Estate Entrepreneur (McGraw-Hill) was written in 2006 and reached #1 in several Amazon categories. The publication of this book led to numerous requests for me to speak at investor conferences around the U.S. including Kansas City, Seattle, Washington D.C., Boston, Providence and Milwaukee.

In 2008 I founded Clover Leaf Publishing which, under the imprint stick people books™ publishes a contemporary and unique line of illustrated non-fiction books.

The most recent book of this series, The Skinny On™ Willpower (How to Develop Self-Discipline) is the study of self-discipline, and is a concise and easy-to-understand guide which synthesizes more than 50 books and articles written on the subject. The Skinny On™ Willpower just received the following endorsements:

“Don’t let the stick figures fool you – The Skinny on™ Willpower is a funny book that offers up some seriously good information on how to declutter your brain and discipline yourself to achieve your personal and professional goals. Jim Randel will have you laughing and thinking at the same time. A very enjoyable read.
Ken Blanchard, coauthor of The One Minute Manager®

“This one is a “super quick read”; it’ll leave you with a basic psychological understanding of how to achieve your goals.”
The New York Daily News, “9 Self Help Books for 2009,” Jan 04, 2009

The previous and first book of this series, The Skinny on™ The Housing Crisis (What Every Homeowner and Homebuyer NEEDS TO KNOW!!!) was released in October of 2008 and has received numerous endorsements, including:

“Jim Randel has put together a no-nonsense, thoroughly readable book on what caused the nation’s housing crisis and what we will need to do to get out of it. This plain English analysis of a complex subject is a must read for the millions of Americans impacted by this shattering event.”
Arthur Levitt, Chairman of the SEC (1992 -2000)

The Skinny On™ Credit Cards (How to Win the Credit Card Game) will be released next month, and
    pre-orders have demonstrated great interest.

More about stick people books™: These books are designed with the 21st century

  660. I’m probably the strangest dichotomy you’ll ever meet…er…read, whatever. I originally hail from Southern California, moved to Oregon, did a university stint in Nevada, then wound up back in Oregon. The Pacific Northwest is probably where I’ll end up buried. I followed the ten-year-tenure plan as a college student and currently eke out a living as a hotel night auditor (read: night troll). On the side, I blog about the magnificently mundane, review various liquids, make up excuses for not starting the Great American Novel, and dabble with poetry about kiwis. What? Kiwis are awesome!

This online stuff serves no other useful purpose than to remind myself that I can actually do something. Eventually. It is also to act as a living testament to my divine mediocrity and attempts at balance in an otherwise unbalanced world. Laugh with me or at me, I don’t care. I’ll probably join in..

    In short, um…I’m awesome.

And I have an awesome website.

    The rest is chump change.

    You should know me.

We operate at the intersection of compelling content, clear vision and best communication practices. Your core message will be seen and heard. Your sales will grow.

    Stay lean.

Consider GSI as your cost-effective alternative to bloating your overhead with additional fulltime staff. Perhaps you’ve experimented with a patchwork quilt of outsourced writers, designers and consultants and found their lack of accountability disappointing.

Our engagements range from comprehensive full service outsourced marketing and public relations work to highly targeted ongoing content development. Put our words and best practices to work for you. We offer a compelling combination of strategic direction and effective messaging for high performance companies. Continuous testing and results interpretation are important parts of our unique outsourced growth solution.
